An Underrated Blank

One of my favorite blanks to build on is the LMX FAF by North Fork Composites. LMX blanks are a blend of 40T and 50T carbon that come in a matte X-Ray finish. Toughener is added to the pre-peg resin to prevent micro-cracks and propagation caused by fly-on-blank impacts but also keeps the action crisp allowing the angler to ‘go the distance’ when required. What's more is that the blanks are designed by Gary Loomis and rolled in the US.

The North Fork LMX may not be as coveted as peer blanks such as Epic, RL Winston, or Sage’s proprietary carbon technology but I think for the money it offers maybe one of the best values. And for the angler that likes an extra fast, snappy blank for throwing tight loops it offers one of the better platforms. This fast action also affords flexibility if you want to fish it with a +1 rated line. I have several LMXs wrapped up for sale on my website including the fresh No. 35 rod that features a beautiful dyed-maple reel seat and matching French silk thread.
